West Sussex County Council

Posted by Val Swain • Leave a comment

In April 2011, the Club applied for a Prevention and Wellbeing Grant from West Sussex County Council and were delighted to receive a letter from the Council in June awarding us £1,200 to help with our transport and rent costs.  We understand that the Council had an overwhelming number of applications for funding so we were very lucky to be awarded this sum.

We have been supported by West Sussex County Council for many many years and their continued support shows how much they appreciate what we are doing for the community in respect of stroke survivors.

Thank you West Sussex County Council.

Sainsbury’s Collection July 2011

Thanks to the kind permission of  Sainsbury’s, the Club was able to hold a collection outside their Store in Westhampnett on Saturday, 16 July.

Despite the wet and windy conditions, £382 was donated during the course of the day which will be applied to the provision of social and therapeutic assistance to our members.  At a time when local authority support is diminishing, the Club is especially grateful for the generosity of private and corporate donors and we would like to thank all those who dipped into their pockets on Saturday to help our work.

This is the second year that the Manager, Bill Woledge, has supported us and we are very grateful to him and Sainsbury’s.

Black Rabbit Summer Outing

Once again, we returned to the Black Rabbit at Arundel for our Summer Lunch outing.   The weather was glorious and the trip by coach around our beautiful countryside was wonderful.  Members and volunteers were able to relax in the sunshine overlooking the River Arun.

It certainly was a glorious day and made possible by a very generous donation of £400  from the Lions Club of Chichester.   We are always very grateful for their continued support.

Christmas Dinner 2011

What a wonderful surprise to receive a letter from The Argus Appeal and the very generous cheque for £200 to go towards our Christmas Dinner.   This is the second time that The Argus Appeal have donated monies to the Chichester Stroke Club and we would like everyone  to know how grateful we are to their organisation.

Our members had a marvellous Christmas get together which is so
important to all of us.

In the photo below is our  Chairman, Ann Manville speaking surrounded by members and volunteers enjoying the day.
